slip dress

Cast your mind back to pre-COVID (if you can). One of the major street style trends of 2019 was the black satin slip dress paired with a white t-shirt underneath and some combat boots. The trend was absolutely everywhere. If you recall, everyone and their mother was wearing this one outfit. Even Rihanna was wearing this outfit, and she is one of our queens of style. It was a simple way to take a black dress and turn it into a daytime casual look. At the beginning of 2020, the trend had died out. This outfit was gone from the street-style scene, we think because no one was out on the streets.

We aren’t done with this piece just yet.  Fast-forward to 2021, and we are out and about once more. Trendy people are opening their wardrobes and dusting off the satin dress again, but we don’t have to style this piece with a t-shirt as we did before. We’ve seen Rihanna wear her satin dress in bright pink with a furry bucket hat, in white with a Sherpa bomber jacket, in copper tones, and in black again but in lingerie style.

You can save your hard-earned money if you saved this piece from 2019. There are new ways to style this dress. Do you and go wild.
