’90s vests are the new boss chic look this summer

'90s vests

Over the past year and a half, let’s just say that we’ve taken comfy casual to new and interesting heights. It was easy to forget how to pull an outfit together with girl boss vibes. One trend we’re loving this summer is turning away from casting basic wardrobe staples as the supporting act to changing accessories and patterned shirts and instead of making these staples the star of their own show. The trend we’re highlighting here is vests as an outfit centerpiece

We’re loving vests as a grown-up revival of a ’90s trend. We don’t know about you, but we were children in the ’90s and while we were wearing light wash denim overalls with an aggressively patterned t-shirt underneath, we want to go a step further with our references to ’90s trends now as adults. However, we all remember seeing Rachel, Monica, and Phoebe wearing a vest with trousers or a skirt on Friends, but somehow the look became dated and stuck in that era – until now. ’90s vests is a piece worth taking from that time because it’s an easy addition to your wardrobe. Anyone with any body shape can use it to get a tailored, fitted look on top, and a vest can be worn with any bottom.

We’re all grown up now, living our lives, going to work, and going out at night. This summer, we needed a piece that helps us get major boss girl vibes without changing our entire wardrobes or creating a severe, intimidating look. Say “bye” to the blazers for this summer. Your vest can shoulder the responsibility of helping you look grown-up and put together with no matter where you’re going.
