We all have essential winter gear in our closets: a wool coat, knit sweaters and warm wool trousers. These items are great for the day to day, but let’s say you were invited to an event or even on a date this winter. Even though it’s cold out, once you get to your destination, you’ll probably have to take your coat off and you’ll probably want to look a little more put together than what you would wear getting groceries or grabbing a quick coffee with a friend. We’ve put together a list of four familiar pieces and upgraded them for more special occasions:
The turtleneck. The classic turtleneck or upgrade the turtleneck is the half-zip sweater. Zip it up to stay warm or unzip it to make a statement at dinner.
The wool coat. Change it up from the traditional wool coat to a loose quilted jacket in any colour to stand out from the crowd.
Wool trousers. Wool trousers can be worn any old day, but leather trousers really make a statement on a night out.
The classic blazer. Blazers are a classic but a blazer with a large, checkered pattern can start a conversation.
